Rebecca has talked about wanting an American Girl doll for awhile now but had not been expecting to get one anytime soon. Cailey knew she wanted one and at the AWANA club that she is a part of she had an opportunity to earn an AG doll so she set her mind (last fall) on doing just that. She (very unselfishly) saved all her hard earned AWANA bucks all year which meant she forfeited the chance to have prizes for herself all along the way. She also had to work very hard on completing her books so she could earn the bucks in the first place. She was able to complete her goals and just last week she surprised Rebecca with Ruthie:) She chose Ruthie because she has Kit and Ruthie is Kit's best friend.
Needless to say Rebecca was THRILLED and has taken Ruthie with her everywhere since then. So precious!

- February 17th:Brought our new babies home to become a part of our forever family:)
- February 15th:Received word that twins had been born on Tuesday the 13th!
- January 26th, 2007: Phone call informing us that a birthmom wants to meet us; meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 31st.
- Dec 14th: Received a notarized copy of our homestudy with a letter stating we are officially approved for adoption as of December 1st.
- Nov 30th: Scrapbook taken to agency; homestudy has been turned in. Nothing left to do but wait:)
- Nov 22nd: Homestudy part 2: home visit
- Nov 8th: Home study part 1: interviews
- Nov 5th: Social worker called; homestudy scheduled
- Oct 23rd: all paperwork in and has been forwarded to the social worker
- Sept 28th: packet mailed in
- Sept 15th: Received adoption packet
- Sept 11th: Initial application mailed
- Sept 7th: Received initial application
- Sept 5th: First call to the agency

"Gave"
There is a sweet boy in our homeschool group named Gabe and he is 11 years old. We are friends with his family and for some reason my Hannah has decided that he is the object of her affections. She is SO enamored with him! She calls him "Gave" and always wants to see him, sit near him, whatever she can do to spend time with him. I wanted to be sure and document this here so in 10 years she could remember her "first crush" :) My favorite part of the whole thing is how SWEET he is to her.....he is under no obligation to give her the time of day but he is always gracious to her....what a good kid!

Field Day 2012
We had our annual homeschool field day on Thursday and as usual we had a great time! This year it was sunny and HOT unlike last year's cool weather. So neat to see over 200 people participating and for the kids to have so much fun with all their friends! I have Dana to thank for at least half of these pictures....I was helping to lead the preschool group around to the different games so wasn't able to get as many pics this year of my kiddos (plus Dana's camera is WAY better than mine!) I didn't get a picture of all the games.....there were eight stations in all.

Fixin' the teeth
I almost couldn't believe it when our dentist told us a few months ago that it was time to seek out an orthodontist for Rebecca.....how can it already be time for that? :( She has a small mouth and some teeth that are growing in the wrong way but our orthodontist thinks that we may possibly be able to avoid braces by using a retainer now. She has one for her upper teeth right now and will eventually have a bottom one too. She has adjusted to it SO well.....I honestly can't remember a single time she has complained about it so far. Proud of her:)
